LY-MHC instrument panel

 

The AN-2 is relatively easy to fly. Although built in Poland and retaining much of the original Russian instrumentation, all switches, dials and controls have had English labels attached at the factory when the aircraft was refurbished.

Starting the AN-2 can be quite a challenge and at least 3 hands are required to prime, pump up fuel pressure, engage the inertial starter and switch on the mags - all at the same time!

LY-MHC is capable of being flown solo but the pilot's operating handbook specifies that, under normal circumstances, the aircraft should be flown with two crew. When trying to land in a crosswind, you'll begin to understand why!
